LA Day 3

Hey room 28, thanks for all your comments. Wow there are some cool ideas there!! I love the idea of the harley ride!! Tessa, although I think Stuart might not be up for it!! He's not the Harley type!!

Today Doris tried to  ake me do a hard right turn in the middle of the freeway!! not sure what was happening to her satellite reception but today she was not a happy camper!! Just as well I had a map. I went to two amazing schools today. Both had 1 to 1 laptops through out the school from year 3. They are dong some amazing enquiry stuff and they love to work with others around the world. I definitely think I should hook you up with them and you can do some Collaborative work with them. They are looking at how clean water is a round the world and have studied their own water systems to see how clean their water is. They use a few USB probes like the microscopes and they measure different things in the water. 

I see your suggestions include the Gaslamp quarter, Cormac.  have been to San diego before and stayed there. Its pretty cool but very expensive to live and eat. Brad I've also been to Fashion valley and you're right, it is a great place to shop!!

Hey you guys that have made me some great suggestions. Are your prices in NZ dollars or US dollars. Can you convert the amounts for me?? and do you think you can do it without a calculator?? Although I'm paying in US dollars, I have to submit all my spending in NZ dollars.

I will post a video shortly from a BBQ we had yesterday with some kids that have been ichatting with NZ. We ate a lot of food and they chatted with Point England school while we were there.

LA Day 2

Well today we visited our first school. It was called Corrine Seeds Elemntary and it is based at UCLA in Bel Aire. A great school with about 450 children. We then drove to Anaheim Hills to hear some children speak about the Rock our World programme. A wonderful initiative based around garageband. If you visit row.org you will find out about it. I think its something you would love to do Room 28!

I have a GPS locator in the car to help find our way round LA. We call her Doris and she is talksus  through all sorts of freeways etc. She will even re route us when we make a wrong turn!!

2 more schools tomorrow then off to San Diego. I'm still looking for ideas of what to do. Someone mentioned Midway to me but I don't know what it is and where to visit it, maybe you could find out!! Also I've been told we could get to mexico? is this true? How would we do it?

I Have Arrived!!!

Hi Room 28,

Stuart and I have arrived in LA. Today is Sunday for us and we have had the day to do some sight seeing!!

Stuart has been to Disneyland, as we are staying right across the road from it!!

I went with some other teachers to Hollywood and Santa Monica Pier. I also popped into LA ink and got a Tattoo!!!

will send you some pics shortly. We will be visiting San Diego this week and have Saturday off to look around. Do you think you could find some local attractions I could visit. If you can tell me how much it costs as well that would be Fabulous!!!
